Between Philanthropy and Fairs: an interview with Robinson Holloway, Founder of Village West Gallery and Executive Director of Art Fair 14C

Robinson Holloway is Founder of the non-profit Village West Gallery and Executive Director of Art Fair 14C. She discovered her passion for the art world by curating solo shows at 350 Bleeker Street, located in the lobby of her fashionable West Village apartment. Robinson is a member of ArtTable, POWarts, and the International Womens’ Forum, and she sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD).

Since founding her gallery, Robinson has gone on to hold the position as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jersey City Arts Council (JCAC). Dedicated to supporting smaller galleries and artists lacking representation, Robinson joined Art Fair 14C in 2018 as Executive Director and aims to ensure accessibility to the world of fine art. www.artfair14c.com

Established in 2014, Village West Gallery operates on a philanthropic model and prides itself in its ‘no-commission’ approach, ensuring that all sales proceeds go to the exhibiting artists. Priority Mail: Our 2019 Mail Art Biennial @ Ground Floor Gallery

Ground Floor Gallery is thrilled to officially announce the return of one of their most popular summer shows, “Priority Mail: Our 2019 Mail Art Biennial”: a sweeping survey of small, original artworks mailed to them by contemporary artists from across the globe. “Priority Mail” is a grand and inclusive gesture for their intimate gallery space in Park Slope, Brooklyn. In the spirit of inclusion and accessibility, all artworks will be priced at $125 and 10% of profits from the exhibition will be donated to the Committee to Protect Journalists in their tireless efforts to defend freedom of the press worldwide.

Enduring Networks: an interview with Kristen Knupp, Founder of KPK Contemporary Art and Co-Founder of Art Decision

Kristen Knupp founded KPK Contemporary Art in 2011, with a focus on contemporary art from Europe and the US. She holds a BA in art history and an MA in Urban Planning from the Columbia School of Architecture, as well as a certification for the two-year art history program from Christie’s Education in London. In 2017, Kristen co-founded the Geneva-based online publication Art Decision, where she works closely with arts institutions to provide insight into the art markets and upcoming events in Switzerland, London and Paris.

KPK Contemporary Art represents contemporary artists from Europe and the U.S. and offers a diverse selection of works, ranging from paintings, pottery, photography, sculpture and mixed media pieces.
