Susan Eley Fine Art presents a solo show of Rachelle Krieger’s new work (10-Sep/22-Oct)

Monday, August 24th, 2015

Susan Eley Fine Art presents a solo show of Rachelle Krieger‘s  new work from 10 September to 22 October. For Krieger (one of whose works is shown above courtesy of Susan Eley), nature is a source of visual, emotional, and spiritual inspiration. Krieger’s large, abstract compositions are often painted en plein-air and reflect the experience of the “rambling, unplanned, chaotic nature of the landscape.” Other pieces are completed in the studio, using smaller oil and watercolor sketches as inspiration.

Krieger received a BFA from The Pratt Institute in 1989. She has also studied at the New York Studio School and the Art Students League in New York City. She lives and works in Port Washington, NY.

Tuesday, September 9th, 2014

.

Mapping a Place is a new exhibition at Susan Eley Fine Art, NYC, where she presents new paintings by Lisa Pressman and Joseph Piccillo from 10 September to 25 October. The exhibition explores how two artists conjure place within the limited confines of a canvas, Piccillo through a reductive process focused on creating minimal color, form and line; and Pressman by building up layers in oil and cold wax and scraping and excavating to reveal what lies beneath.  Download the press release here and for any queries, contact Susan Eley Fine Art.
