Good Figures, TINT-ART’s new exhibition in London opens 9-14 February 2015

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

GOOD FIGURES, an exhibition of the female form depicted by 30 contemporary female artists is presented by TINT-ART at the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1 from 9th-14th February 2015. For more information contact TINT-ART.

Tint Art RosieEmerson_1024x1024GOOD FIGURES is an exhibition that celebrates the enduring appeal of the female figure depicted by 30 Contemporary female artists, including Rosie Emerson’s cyanotypes (right) and ‘Knickers’ by Jane McAdam Freud (below), courtesy of TINT-ART.

100 years ago Dame Laura Knight was one of the earliest female artists to depict the female nude and then in 1936 the first woman to be elected to the Royal Academy. 100 years on this exhibition celebrates the freedom and expression of female artists today.

Continuing an impulse that began in the 1960s and 1970s with the Women’s Movement, many artists engage socially-centered themes, including gender and identity formation.

*     Do we know which art of today is going to be heralded tomorrow?

*     What challenges and reactions and personal statements about identity are being made by the artists shown in Good Figures?

Approximately 100 art works for sale with each artist exhibiting new work previously unseen in London.
