Camilla Zervoglos and Helene Schneider set up Flaere Gallery in late 2009. The gallery specialises in contemporary limited edition fine art photography. Based in London and Paris, the gallery exhibits the work of their artists through carefully curated pop-up shows and at art fairs.

One of the artists represented by Flaere Gallery is Seattle-based photographer Christopher Boffoli belongs to a select group of artists who play with scale, magnifying and subverting the everyday to create a world for his meticulously hand-painted miniature figures to inhabit. “There is in some part a god-like feeling to having command of an entire world, which you can rearrange at any capricious whim.”
In his recent series called Big Appetites, the world is gastronomic: canoeists set sail on split milk; scuba divers prepare to submerge in a cup of tea; a golfer tees off the top of a cupcake. The engaging and humorous results also offer commentary on America’s overconsumption and the country’s sometimes dysfunctional relationship with food. Boffoli’s work has recently been featured in Colossal and in the FS Stoppers. Click here for the full catalogue for Big Appetites.
