In All Directions, a residency coming up at DegreeArt Gallery

DegreeArt Gallery has an exciting new residency coming up! Unit 3 Projects; ‘In All directions’ is comprised of 10 diverse artists who will work with, beside, around and against one another in DegreeArt’s ‘The Execution Room’ in order to engage themselves and you in an experimental and haphazard creative conversation. Taking ‘gesture’ as its central theme, ‘In All Directions’ is a celebration of possibility, exchange and risk. The residency begins March 24th and continues through to May 5th, with various other exciting events from the artists throughout their time in the gallery. DegreeArt’s Execution Room welcomes you to ‘Twelve Portraits: Twelve Artists’ starting on 2nd August

As London prepares for the coveted 2012 Olympic games, athletes from all over the world are training for one of the largest summer events of the year. DegreeArt’s Execution Room welcomes you to a unique exhibition that celebrates the auspicious games. TWENTY Team GB athletes have been selected by TWELVE of DegreeArt’s most distinct artists who have come together to create twenty original pieces of art, which celebrate the British atheletes and the spirit of the historical event. Each artist in the 20:12 collective has chosen an athlete, or aspect of the games as their muse and has created bespoke pieces that are to become historical punctuations in their artistic aesthetic, the athlete and the games as a whole.  For more information click here. presents ‘audio video’, an exhibition dedicated to artists’ moving image (5-29 July)

For the first time DegreeArt’s Execution Room unveils an exhibition dedicated to artists’ moving image, audio video acts as an introduction to moving image practice by presenting five established channels created by artists working in the fields of contemporary film and video. It will engage the viewer and become a foundation and impetus for a new interest in video art, visually narrated by emerging artists with unique takes on the form. Thursday, May 31st, 2012’s directors Elinor Olisa and Isobel Beauchamp, also founding members of AWAD, were recently  featured by the Evening Standard during the Art HAUS exhibition that runs at their Vyner Street Gallery until June 29.
